Construction of the canopy attached to the house: implementation of the project with their own handsA year later, after building the house, I desired to attach a canopy to its front wall. In order to be multifunctional, but at the same time it is very simple in accordance with the design. Which was required through a canopy? The very essence - because of him I wanted to get an extra room for summer rest, protected through sun rays and rain. For the sake of gatherings for the air, so it was allowed to have lunch in the courtyard, and calm down in a deck chair. In accordance with the project, the canopy should begin with some substitution of an open gazebo, however with a more artless design. In order to build a minimum of material means and physical efforts was spent during the construction.
Izza 2 weeks of the order was implemented. For the basis of acquired practical abilities and knowledge, I would like to offer you an opinion on the construction of the most traditional traditional canopy attached to the house.
Which we will arrange?
The structure was chosen as the standard for this type of canopy. This is a simple rafter order of the roof for supports. The dimensions of the canopy are 1.8 x 6 m in the plan, 2.4 m in front of the roof. On one side, iron pillars (4 pieces along the facade) are used as a supporting element, on the other hand a plate attached to the wall of the house. Covering the roof - sheets of Ondura (analogue of Ondulina, with large sheet sizes). Between the pillars is planned the installation of latticed trellis for the sake of grapes, so that it was allowed to sit in the shade near the canopy, enjoying the nature and fresh air, even in the midday heat.
Speech #1 - installing iron pillars
I started with the installation of iron pillars, in other words, vertical shelves of the canopy, for which it is sufficient to keep the roof rafter order. There are only 4 of them, they go along the facade, for a distance of 1.8 m through the walls. According to the plan, the length of the canopy is 6 m (according to the entire length of the facade of the house), hence the protrusion of the racks is 1,8 m (taking into account the roofs on both sides through the pillars).
For the sake of the racks, 4 iron pipes of 60x60x3 mm of square section with a length of 3.9 m were bought. They will be buried in the ground for 1.5 m (below the freezing level), 2.4 m remain on top. Before I outlined the pegs of the installation of columns - strictly for a distance of 1.8 m through the walls. I measured it all out, calculated horizontals. Later he took a drill with a nozzle of 150 mm and drilled four pits with a depth of 1.5 m. Shaft drilled by a drill
Consent to the programmed program, a pile foundation of concrete is poured around the counter. This is done in the following way: any rack is installed in the pit, in which concrete is poured. Obtain reinforced piles that hold the posts.
Do not pour concrete directly into the drilled holes. It is necessary to perform insulation, which at once will perform the function of formwork. For the sake of this, I decided to take out ruberoid sleeves - rolled up as a cylinder cuts of roofing material. The length of the sleeves should exist so that the concrete piles protrude above the ground level for 10 cm. For a hole with a depth of 1.5 m, for which a 10 cm sandbag is quite filled for a day, 1.5 m long sleeves are needed. The diameter of the sleeves is 140 mm.
I cut pieces of roofing material, folded them into sleeves and fastened it with adhesive tape (it is allowed to remove the stapler). Further down to the bottom of each pit was filled with a 10 cm sand discharge and inserted the sleeve there. The formwork is ready for concrete.

The beginning is the last two, I leveled them in accordance with the vertical and height (2.4 m), pulled a rope between them and already, according to him, exposed two intermediate posts. After that, I poured concrete into the cartridges (from the finished consistency, I added water without water and it was quite comfortable). For grasping and rejection of concrete, I took 3 days. During this period of time, I do not want to pile up the rack, so I started preparing wood parts - support boards and rafters.
Speech #2 - make the roof
In the construction of the roof there are 2 support boards, for which the rafters and the whole roofing structure will be supported. One of the boards is attached to the wall, the other to the pillars-racks. Over the support boards, in the transverse direction, the rafters are laid.
The boards are taken with a section of 150x50 mm, length 6 m. Because the canopy was originally planned, kind of benign, however cheap building, I bought not planed boards. Ostrogal and polished them without the help of others, which took some time. But I was confident in the end, I ironed the look according to the high class.
The rafters will be laid in the grooves of the support boards. Again, one pain in the head - you need to cut the grooves, while at the angle of the rafters. In order to find the angle and the location of the frame, it was necessary to perform a test installation of the boards. Now, if the support boards for their own places, went to walking malk, with which I determined the angle of the rafters. After that, the boards were removed and in their, taking into account the known angle, the grooves near the rafters were cut out.
The rafters are also made of boards 150x50 mm, 2 m long. Only the rafters came out 7 pieces. Their protrusion of the installation for the support boards is 1 m.
Then fit the rafters to the grooves, all the details were dyed with a"Teak"coloring composition of Holz Lazur JOBI.
Next, all the time was assembled. Supporting boards - like and during preparatory fastening, in other words with the help of wood grouses and studs. The ends of the rafters remained open, which is not perfect in terms of decorativeness. Well, there was nowhere to strengthen the waterfall. Therefore, for the sake of completeness of the roof, I screwed to the ends of the rafters a frontal board - a lining, 6 m long. The frontal plate covers the ends of the rafters and makes support for the sake of the gutter Without armature to act afraid, it is not enough, it is likely that the cracks will go and fall apart. Then he mixed the concrete and poured it into the trench. It was necessary to wait until the concrete grabbed and hardened, so I decided to return to the supporting wall later. And without delay - to undertake the decoration of your own structure.
Speech #4 - Installing overlays for poles and tapestries
It's time to have a look at the canopy with a critical eye. The iron racks of the canopy were not easily knocked out of the overall composition. I decided to decorate and equip them, sewing them with wood lining. It seems that one day, for the sake of this, I left fairly plank 100x25 mm. I fixed them on top of the iron pillars with the help of M8 studs, washers and nuts. Between the overlays (from the side of the installation row) there was a place, there I inserted the rail 45x20 mm. Reiki formed protrusions, for them horizontal elements of tapestry will be fixed. The turn of the trellis came. I chose for their mesh a picture with a carved hole in the center. This hole allowed me to extract for the sake of the series not only longish slats, but also the remainder. It is permissible to speak, there is a non-waste action. Well, it looks like this image is more interesting than the standard monotonous squares.
Reiki for the sake of trellis were made, through the longitudinal dissolution of the planks I had at 100x25mm. The board was opened for three parts, the acquired slats were polished. The final section of the rails (then polishing) is 30x20 mm.
I did a series without a frame, the slats are fixed only on the vertical ledges of the racks. The beginning I exposed horizontal racks, fastening them to ledges by screws. Then, on top of them fixed vertical bars. A decorative lattice appeared, around which the wife planted grapes. Immediately it is already very winding according to the trellis and almost blocked the wall of the structure. A little protects through the midday heat. This is just in time, because the canopy is on the south side of the house and without a canopy to rest here for a day was virtually unreal because of the abnormal heat. Statement #5 - the retaining wall building
The final step is the construction of the retaining wall. The tape base near it is already frozen, it is allowed to start work. For the sake of waterproofing I pasted 2 layers of ruberoid to the foundation tape, having smeared a separate discharge with mastic. From above, according to ruberoid, I built a retaining wall, 3 bricks in height, according to the level. The retaining wall will not allow rain drops and water to be watered for a pad near the canopy

Here, probably, and without a break. The canopy was built. I realized the full intention, but I did not see any problems in the process. After the playground near the canopy was covered with paving slabs. It is permissible to say that I have got a hidden terrace or an open house - like who likes, for no reason and name. Although according to the design, this is an ordinary canopy for pillars, the time for the construction of which took quite a bit.
